It was reported by CCTV that the eleventh round of China-US Investment Treaty Negotiation was held in Shanghai on January 14, 2014. It is the second round since the negotiation entered into the substantive stage last July. The two Parties negotiated many issues, such as the opening of investment market, the protection of investment interests, the fair competition among all types of investors and the dispute settlement procedure.

Professor Wenhua SHAN, Dean of XJTU School of Law and the expert team led by him participated in this round. Prof. SHAN and his team composed of the professors and experts from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xiamen University and Sun Yat-Sen University have been providing technical support to this significant negotiation from studying and analyzing of US BIT draft to drawing up China BIT draft and compiling China's International Investment Treaty Negotiation Handbook since China-US Investment Treaty negotiation was resumed in 2012. In addition, the leading members of the team took part in all the rounds held in China and their achievements are highly recognized by MOFCOM.
